An interactive contract calculator
Some contracts cost you money on every unit you bill. Enter your overhead, code mix and payer rates to see which ones fall below break-even, and what a small raise would be worth at renewal.
Example numbers are loaded so you can see how it works. Replace them with yours and the verdict updates as you type. Nothing leaves this browser.
These are example numbers. Replace them with yours; they stay in this browser only.
The top row is how often you bill each code, as a share of all units. Below it, what each payer pays per unit. Share is each payer's slice of your volume.
How it's calculated. For each payer, multiply how often you bill each code by what that payer pays for it, add it up and divide by the codes billed. Compare that weighted average to your break-even: overhead divided by total codes billed. A plan below break-even costs you money on every unit. Keep it only for another reason, like a referral relationship you need.
Example rates are illustrative, not any payer's actual fee schedule. This is a planning aid for education, not financial or legal advice.
